Which Do You Prefer to Submit -- a CV or a Resume When Applying a Job

I don’t care which style I should use – for me those important info about me should be included in my resume. My resume is a mixture of American and British styles. How about yours? For American style it is called Resume and for British style it is called CV or Curriculum Vitae.

Looking for some samples, I spotted that not all the information written on CV and Resume are the same. On a British CV, it is usual to put your date of birth. On an American resume you may choose whether or not to include your birth date, marital status, children and etc.
In American style – an applicant will feed his resume with the following information such as: his name
  • his contact address
  • his contact telephone
  • his email address
  • his marital status
  • his children (number)
  • his objective
  • his attended education
  • his work experiences
  • his languages
  • his personal interests
  • his references (people)

Can you spot the difference between a CV and a Resume?
In British style – an applicant will feed his CV with the following information such as:
  • his name
  • his contact address
  • his contact telephone
  • his nationality
  • his marital status
  • his education and qualifications
  • his employment to date
  • his skills
  • his interests

Styles do not matter – an applicant can choose either the American style or the British style to submit when applying a job.

Just Dream Big: Five Kinds of Dreamers

"How you can afford things?" allows you to have a bigger and bigger dreams. But you must be aware of people who want to kill your dreams. There are people who may innocently or not innocently say things to kill your dreams such as:
  • “You cannot do that.”
  • “That is too risky. Do you know how many people fail?”
  • “Don’t be silly. Where do you come up with such ideas?”
  • “If it is such a good idea, why has not someone else done it before?”
  • “Oh I tried that years ago. Let me tell you why it would not work.”
They are the people who kill other people’s dreams and people who have given up on their dreams. I would rather suggest – dream big and don’t stop without giving it a chance to come true. Life without dream is boring and dull. Dream will help you mould your future. Dream gives you strength to face the natural world of your choice to reach success in life. Dreams empower you to strive more, to learn more and to do your best to develop your personal power to afford the things you wanted.
If you want to change who you are, begin by changing the size of your dream. Dream big. Don't be afraid and never let this temporary financial setback diminish the size of your dream. It is the vision of your dream that will pull you through this rough period of life. Broke is temporary and poor is eternal. But even if you are broke, it does not cost you anything to dream.
Five kinds of dreamers:
  • Dreamers who dream in the past
  • Dreamers who dream only small dreams
  • Dreamers who have achieved their dreams and have not set a new dream
  • Dreamers who dream big dreams but do not have a plan on how to achieve them
  • Dreamers who dream big dreams, achieve those dreams and go on to dream bigger dreams.

How Does Lightning is Produce?

I love to read anything from newspapers, tabloids, comics, books, other religious books that includes Holy Bible and Holy Qur’an. On a verse of the Holy Qur’an 24:43 translated in English that says “And He sends down hail from mountains (clouds) in the sky, and He strikes with it whomever He will, and turns it from whomever He wills. The vivid flash of its lightning nearly blinds the sight.”

The said verse from the Holy Qur’an was about lightning found on these links:

The records tell: In 1600 AD, Aristotle's ideas on meteorology explained that thunder is the sound of collision of the dry emanation with the neighboring clouds and lightning is the inflaming and burning of the dry exhalation with a thin and faint fire. In Meteorology Today - authored by Ahrens - explains that a cloud becomes electrified as hail falls through a region in the cloud of supercooled droplets and ice crystals. As liquid droplets collide with hailstone, they freeze on contact and release latent heat.

This keeps the surface of the hailstone warmer than that of the surrounding ice crystals. When the hailstone comes in contact with an ice crystals, an important phenomenon occurs - electrons flow from the cooler object  toward the warmer object. And because the hailstone becomes negatively charged, the same effect occurs when supercooled droplets come in contact with hailstone and tiny splinters of positively charged ice break off. These lighter positively charged particles are then carried to the upper part of the cloud by updrafts.

The hail, left with a negative charge, falls towards the bottom of the cloud, thus the lower part of the cloud becomes negatively charged. These negative charges are then discharged as lightning. And it is concluded that it is the hail the major factor in producing lightning.

The said phenomenon was explained by some Muslim scholars that what has been written in the Holy Qur’an are true, accepted and approved by some scientists who also testified that what Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said in the Holy Qur’an was true - a divine inspiration or revelation which lead him to these statements.

Hail is defined as a form of solid precipitation which consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice, that are individually called hail stones. Hail stones on Earth consist mostly of water ice and measure between five millimetres (0.20 in) and 150 millimetres (5.9 in) in diameter, with the larger stones coming from severe thunderstorms.

Philip and His Love For Piano

Music plays a very important part of Philip Caruso’s life. He has a great passion for playing the piano and he loves to share it to people. Philip Caruso has just finished his piano lessonswhile he was also taking up his accountancy. Now he is sharing his passion of music to the world through his piano expertise.
Philip Caruso was born and raised in China. Now he is in New Zealand studying Accountancy at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. He has always wanted to learn to play the piano since his childhood. But his parent opposed him. They thought playing the piano would only disturb his study. So he never had the chance to learn piano in his home country. However, when he arrived in New Zealand, he also took up lessons on piano.
He bought his piano in 2007 and started playing the piano alone. And then in March 2008, he decided to taking up proper piano lessons for at least one hour a week.
He said, “I tried to practice the piano at least two hours every day when I am at home. The person who inspired and motivated me to learn the piano was one of the world’s remarkablePianist Lang Lang (郎朗) who is also a Chinese national. I am a great fan of Lang Lang. His passion for playing piano and his childhood story really inspired me a lot.”
Now most of Philip Caruso's piano recitals can be watched on YouTube with his other bestcollections played by other best pianists in the world.
My favorite Saying: "Dream big and don't stop without giving it a chance to come true." I have no specific areas where my writing will focus on. I write any subject that interest me under the merciless sun. I do write articles in English and in Filipino Tag-alog languages.

The British Isles and Its People

To refer to the nationality of the people of Britain or the United Kingdom one has to use the adjective British. English describes people from England and should not be used to describe people from Ireland, Scotland or Wales. One should use Irish to describe people from Ireland, Scottish for the people of Scotland and Welsh for the people of Wales.

Image via Wikimedia Commons the British Isles
But to describe people from some cities, there are special adjectives and nouns to use – for example a person from London is called Londoner. People from Dublin are called Dubliner (s). People from Glasgow are called Glaswegian (s). People from Aberdeen are called Aberdonian (s). People from Manchester are called Mancunian (s). And people from Liverpool are called Liverpudlian (s).
But there are other names to call to a Londoner – who speaks with the local accent, he is also called a Cockney. There are also informal names to call for people from some cities for example – people from Birmingham are called Brummie. People from Liverpool are called Scouse or Scouser and people from Tyneside which stretches from Newcastle to the coast are called Geordie. But despite of many names used to call them – they all use the same name for their money currency which is Sterling Pound also known as GBP.
Britain or Great Britain (GB) is a geographical area consisting of England, Scotland and Wales but not “Ireland”. But Ireland is part of The British Isles. The name Britain is often also incorrectly used to refer to the political state, officially called the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland. This is abbreviated to the United Kingdom or the UK.

The British Isles is a group of islands that includes Britain, Ireland, and a number of smaller islands like Shetland Islands, Fair Isle, Orkney Islands, Rona Island, Lewis and Harris Islands, North Uist Island, South Uist Island, Benbecula Island, Barra or Bana Island, Skye Island, Three Coll Island, Mull Island, Jura Island, Islay Island, Isle of Man, Anglesey Island, Holyhead Island, Isle of Wight and Isles of Scilly. The Irish Republic also known as Republic of Ireland which was formerly Eire is an independent state occupying the southern part of the island of Ireland.

StumbleUpon Has Potential to Bring Views and Traffic

You can maximize the use of StumbleUpon to get more views and traffic for your awesome articles and other stuff. There are two ways to share articles at StumbleUpon through the normal way and through a feature created by the site called Su.pr. Both are legal and safe to use.

StumbleUpon is a cool place and has potential to bring views and traffic for your articles. If one percent of the total stumblers viewed your articles pages they are equivalents to 200 thousands views. The site is a free web-browser extension which acts as an intelligent browsing tool for discovering and sharing websites and other awesome stuff across the Internet. So, there is no reason at all if you missed the opportunity. The site is open 24/7 waiting for your visits.
Normal Way of Sharing to StumbleUpon

At StumbleUpon, there are two different ways to share our awesome articles to other users such as:
  • Share them through the normal way
  • Share them through a feature called Su.pr
What is sharing the normal way? Sharing the normal way at StumbleUpon is all about sharing your articles links, blog sites links or websites links - where you are asked for the following justifications like:
  • Is the article, blog site or website safe to work or safe to view?
  • What topics, tags or labels you will use?
  • You have to write a review which is optional
This normal way of sharing is intended to over 20 million of stumblers for their votes, likes, views and recommendations or to rate of what you shared on the site.

What is sharing through Su.pr? This is also about sharing your articles links, blog sites links or websites links.Su.pr is a feature created by StumbleUpon and there are thousands of users also using the application for their articles sharing.
Sharing through Su.pr_StumbleUpon
The only difference from sharing the normal way to StumbleUpon - any items you shared on this feature are not intended to likes, votes, recommendation or to rate from other users. However, the feature has potential to get views and traffics to your articles - if someone spotted and clicked the link of your article shared there it is automatically counted as view. The feature works like this: Su.pr+Clicks=Views. And with the link of your article you can also add some text before posting. You can also schedule the articles for the dates when to post.

What good for this feature - you can also activate your accounts at Twitter, Facebook and other Pages and e-Groups you created at Facebook for the purpose of sharing of your stuff and what ever items you shared on this site will be automatically be sent off to those sites without doing the job from your side.
What I mentioned above are what I have experienced. Both are effective ways to get more views and traffic to my articles. Of course, I am not insisting this to you to do the same what I have done but if ever you thought that it will work for you too then go ahead and this is my advice - Use both ways. They are all legal and without spamming. But use them responsibly.

Who are The Entrepreneurs? Education is For Everyone

An Entrepreneur can be a person who starts a business alone. He can be an adventurer who takes risks. He can be a broker who is expert on financial management. He can be a professional working person. He can be a writer, author, journalist, a blogger and other imaginable professions. He can be a person who is engaged in private ownership of business. He can be an employer who hires people to work with him. He can be a person who manages an organization. He can be a person who lends money and advises. He can be a person who is acting as an agent and he can be a person who negotiates.

It is believed that writing is one of the oldest professions ever created since the early days of man. People who are engaged in this profession can earn good income too to sustain for their needs and wants. We even heard that some of the remarkable writers became millionaires. And they are regarded as entrepreneurs.
There are two types of entrepreneur:
  • The Active Entrepreneurs – those who earn active income through employment, the practice of profession and through their own business. Their incomes come directly as a result of their own hard works, their skills, talents and time. And their incomes are to be spent only for their needs not for their wants.
  • The Passive Entrepreneurs - those who make their money work to make more money. Their incomes are called passive income – those are investment incomes they earn from their assets or investments or both even when they do not work.
Passive Income has Two Main Purposes:
  • To further increase their investments that will fund their future needs when they stop working or when they decide to stop earning active income.
  • And to fund their periodic and personal wants in life.
Defining Needs and Wants
Want and need are understood as the overall concept of demand – as the desire to own anything, the ability to pay for it and the willingness to pay. I might say that this is true. There are times that we live beyond our means because we sometimes fail to know the difference between our wants and needs. There are times that we feel the fancy to buy for something that we think we need. It might be because of often pressure from friends, family and the dictates of visible society that brings this desire. And when we realize that we only want it - not really need it, we feel sad for what we had spent for.
Definition of Need and Want
A need is something that is necessary for a person to live a healthy life. Need can be objective and physical, such as food. In a broader sense, needs are the basic requirements for a person to be able to live and survive. These needs are food, clothing, and a house to live in. A want is something that is desired or something that a person would like to have.
Some Basic Needs
We need food to give energy to our body so we can work. We need clothes to wear at home, in school or in the office. We need a place to sleep in. Other basic needs include transportation, education, health protection, life insurance and some form of leisure times to balance our life existence. Without these needs make our lives more difficult and not worth living. We can imagine ourselves like those people who live in the streets and barely have nothing to eat, clean and decent clothes to wear and a house to take shelter in.
Need is for Survival and Want is for Luxury
To make it simple, based from the above definitions and descriptions, we can say that needs are the things needed for survival while wants are the things intended for luxury.
To expand them, I will say “I will build a house even if it will be made out from nipa leaves and bamboo trees where I can live and sleep in.” It signals about survival. And the money I will spend for building it should come from my active income.
But if I said “I will build a house and it should be made out of gold and silver where I can live and sleep in.” It signals about luxury I had desired. And the money I will spend for building it should come from my passive income.

He arranges meeting and may takes minutes if necessary or per requested.
A secretary provides logistical support for project events. He performs other related duties as assigned. He manages and maintains immediate superior’s schedule. He prepares invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and other documents, using a typewriterword processorspreadsheet, database and other presentation softwares. When the manager and other executives are away – the secretary is the first choice to handle temporarily those jobs and duties left by them. A secretary is the second powerful and respected person in a company. All transactions that need approval from the boss will pass first through the secretary’s desk for scrutiny.
