Be careful of scam job advertisements. They appear occasionally on job sites. Everyday hundreds of newly graduates around the world are using the Internet to look for jobs. And there are also hundreds of scam job advertisements posted by dishonest people out to make quick money from job seekers.
If you were one of them you should be careful of job advertisements that:
- Ask you to pay money before processing your application or training you
- Invite you to interviews that turn out to be multi-level marketing or pyramid selling schemes
- Misuse your resume information to sell you products (such as insurance, etc) or make offers not connected to the job advertised
- Are generally untrue, dubious or misleading (e.g. misleading job title, job description or company description)
- Use web-based public email addresses instead of company-owned email addresses
In addition to the above, ignore emails that require you to download or install any software, tool or utility from those job sites. Remember that a legit job site uses its company-owned email addresses not a web-based public email addresses.
Internet is an indispensable. It's a necessary tool for the present time. But some people are using the internet for their fancies and whims. One of the many reasons why the Internet had become a den of criminal crimes. These people are uncrupulous in methods of making money and in taking advantage of the unfortunate victims.
