News Reporter Important Element That Makes News

There are many ways in which the world of the newspaper reporter or journalist differs widely from the world of freelance writer. As a newspaper reporter, he does not work at his own pace. Rather, he usually work conventional working hours, or sometimes longer. He does not choose his own subjects but rather are given specific assignments by an editor to carry out. He is certainly not his own boss. The newspaper reporter must need strict deadlines and submit the material on time. Yes he may be lower in importance among the professionals who put out newspaper but he is the most important element in delivering the news.

Before starting to write a story for a newspaper, it would be helpful to give first some thought to what makes an event newsworthy. Some newspaper editors believe that reader interest is the key: readers should read about what they want to know in the paper. Other editors argue that newspapers should inform their readers about current events and deemphasize negative or unsavory topics which interest many people, such as murder, violence and sex.

Janus is already 2013 years old now. And yet still, he is of full energy to start the day, full of hope and so much expectation. He always love to visit us once a year. Yes. Janus has just arrived but with the same attire, the same smiles, the same energy, the same face, the same smell, the same character and attitude. With him are the same joy and happiness, he brought to the world. He is the same Janus I saw for the past twelve years. Nothing has changed about him, only his age.

My family welcome Janus

As recorded on our history, the last twelve years that Janus revisited us fell on different week days. Back in 2012 January 1 was Sunday. On January 1, 2011 it was Saturday. In 2010 January 1 was Friday. On January 1, 2009 was Thursday. In 2008 January 1 was Tuesday. On January 1, 2007 it was Monday. On January 1, 2006 was Sunday. On January 1, 2005 it was Saturday. On January 1, 2004 was Thursday. On January 1, 2003 it was Wednesday. On January 1, 2002 was Tuesday and on January 1, 2001 it was Monday.

Every one knows that January 1 marks the end of a period of remembrance of the passing year for radio, television and newspapers and other publications. All publications have year-end articles that review the changes during the past year on topics like politics, natural disasters, music, arts, the listing of significant individuals and those who died and born during the past year. Every year, it is the same approach and style. Nothing has changed at all.

However, the world and people should be happy to welcome Janus. Yes. Every year, it is the same cycle of months that give us life and hope. They add the years and time for us to live on this vast planet, to enjoy with the blessings that God has provided to each and every one. Yes. It is boring for others but no one can object it. Life and time are just like that. God bless us all.Happy New Year each and everyone. Happy returns of the month!

Janus The God of Change is Coming Back Very Soon

Happy New Year will be said and heard again as the New Year approaches. But the day celebrated as New Year’s Day was not always January 1.

January 1 marks the end of a period of remembrance of the passing year for radio, television and newspapers. Publications have year-end articles that review the changes during the past year. The topics include politics, natural disasters, music, arts, the listing of significant individuals and those who died during the past year and many more.

During the Middle Age, New Year’s Day was celebrated among Christians usually on March 25 (Roman Calendar). After the adoption of the Gregorian calendar in 1582, the day was observed on the January 1. The Jewish New Year is the first day of Tishri, which falls some time in September or in early October. The Chinese New Year is between January 10 and February 19 of the Gregorian calendar. The Muslim New Year falls on the first day of Muharram. The word Muharram means "forbidden" so called because it was unlawful (haram) to fight during this month.

The month of January is named for Janus. In Roman mythology, Janus was the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings and endings. He was known as Janus Geminus (twin Janus) with two faces looking in opposite directions. The first hour of the day, the first day of the month and the first month of the year bears his name.

Janus is symbolizing the god of change and transitions such as, the progression of past to future, of one condition and of one vision to another. And because Janus symbolizes them, the making of New Year’s resolutions had become a tradition of the season. People begin to think of what they would like to change for the next year. They make resolutions for everything they can think of. And of course, I also did it the same thing as well.

Janus was also worshipped at the beginning of the harvest and planting times, as well as marriages, births and other beginnings. During his reign Janus was the first to announce the golden age. He introduced the important of money, laws and agriculture – that making him a culture hero.

In old Japan calendar, the month January is called Mutsuki. In Finnish it is called Tammikuu – meaning month of the oak.

Also January 1 for the Roman Catholic and Aglican churches is the feast day celebrating the circumcision of Jesus, who is believed by all Christians the Savior and the Redeemer of human race and the world.

As for me January is the beginning of the twelve months cycle. Happy returns of the month!
